How do you improve on near perfection? It's a good question. Having completely redesigned their Reaction Hybrid frame for 2017 they wanted to eke the maximum possible performance out of its newly tweaked geometry. The answer was to select the very best components, topped off with SRAM's revolutionary 1x12 Eagle transmission. The result is our Rection Hybrid Eagle. There's no better-handling, better-equipped aluminium e-MTB hardtail: fact.

Components

Their Reaction Hybrid frames were already popular choices with clued-up riders. They knew that their Agile Ride Geometry and huge experience in building e-MTBs translated into a great handling bike. But they knew they could do better, so they went back to the drawing board to create a brand new chassis, incorporating the motor and battery unit into the frame to give the 2017 Reaction Hybrid two key advantages over its predecessor. First, careful positioning of the powerful Bosch drive unit has allowed them to improve the geometry even further anb brings steering and agility to a level that you'll find hard to believe. And second, now there is space for an bottle cage holder in the front triangle.

Bosch's powerful CX drive unit is the Reaction Hybrid Eagle's beating heart, providing up to 75Nm of climb-devouring torque, even for extended periods - and the 500Wh battery is standard, so you've no worries about running out of charge

And they finished this range-topping bike with SRAM's new 1x12 X01 Eagle transmission. The huge gear range and simple, single control shifting could have been made for e-MTBs…

They harnessed the new geometry's superb handling by speccing Rock Shox's genre-busting RS-1 upside down fork and a set of light DT Swiss CSW AM 2.0 with 2.6in Schwalbe Nobby Nic tyres.

Agile Ride Geometry

They ran innumerable tests to develop the Agile Ride Geometry in their series of big wheel bikes. They also added the 27.5in wheel size to the very well received portfolio. Three important details lead to the very agile character. Increased fork offsets let us achieve the same trail as their 26in bikes without having to steepen the head angle, thus maintaining generous toe clearance to the front wheel. Secondly they shortened the chain stays without compromising the seat angle. They invented a patented construction to mount the front derailleur to give them more tyre clearance while keeping a conventional seat angle, leading to a perfect riding position for every rider size. Last but not least they kept the BB height the same as on our 26in bikes. These measures lead to a natural riding position. Every mountain biker will feel immediately at home on a CUBE 29er or 27.5.

Advanced Hydroforming

The new STEREO , FRITZZ and HANZZ models are built using Advanced Hydroforming. Conventional hydroforming processes cannot achieve these custom shapes and technical advantages. As this manufacturing method reduces the number of welds, the weight is reduced while durability is increased.
