The Stereo C:68 SLT 27.5 is a riding machine built right up to the limit of current technology. Whether it's the state of the art C:68 carbon frame, Sram's X01 Eagle groupset or the genius of Fox's Factory suspension system, this is a blend of the best of current bike tech and maximum riding performance in a single All Mountain bike that will appeal to perfectionists everywhere.
C:68 is their answer to the question, "what's currently possible in carbon frame construction?" Their engineering team has sunk nearly three years of painstaking development work into this frame, increasing the fibre content to an even higher 68%. It's light as a feather, incredibly stiff and also unebelievably durable - a class leader in full carbon suspension. Agile Trail Geometry (ATG) means it has their trademark ride-by-wire handling, while Efficient Trail Control (ETC) guarantees suspension that's as efficient as it is sensitive. Is there a better mountain bike frame? Not right now. This is the ultimate.
Sram's 1x12 Eagle groupset has been making waves, and it's not hard to see why. Simplicity, low weight and an incredible gear range combine to make it the go-to choice for discerning riders everywhere - and that's why it's the perfect match for the Stereo 140 C:68 SLT 27.5. The same is true of Fox's Factory suspension.
Combined with the Rock Shox Reverb Stealth dropper post - which can be lowered up to 150mm (125mm for smaller frames) - you're guaranteed the best possible control and manoeuvrability, whatever the trail. Super light CSW AM 3.7 wheels with tubeless-ready rims and a Syntace Carbon cockpit complete the spec list, leaving practically no room for future upgrades.
They've fitted the ultra light and stiff 34 Float Factory fork with 150mm travel up front and a Float DPS Factory EVOL shock at the rear, both with the extra sensitivity of a Kashima coating and both in custom CUBE tune. The powerful and incredibly controllable Sram Level Ultimate bake system offers on-demand stopping power and modulation.
Adaptable X12 Hanger
Cube optimized their new dropout design based on the Syntace X12 through-axle system, enlarging the area of the frame where the hanger is mounted. They can now fit the longer Direct Mount hangers. Shifting precision and stiffness is therefore improved. With the new design it's also possible to swap the whole contact area of the axle with the hanger should the system be worn out.
FOX Customized Setup
Sophisticated suspension kinematics are only able to work correctly if the associated shock is properly tuned. They researched and found a specific shock setup in cooperation with Fox Racing Shox, using extensive testing for almost every CUBE full-suspension model.
Press Fit BB
With Press Fit bearings, the bottom bracket bearings are pressed directly into the frame and not screwed in as usual. This gives a wider bottom bracket shell and allows us to build a wider down tube and more broadly-spaced chainstays. Every millimetre of additional width gives a significant improvement in lateral stiffness.
